Text messages travel from beneath the meeting table as someone talks about something that nobody cares about or already know the answer to. Emails checked with a glance during "Happy Birthday", big games monitored during another forgettable church service, playlists go camping, the earth has a soundtrack.
Are we revolving around or depending on?
Iʻm a fan of technology but curious about the effects of our race becoming overteched.
Is technology inspiration over distraction? Creation over degradation?
Could it ever be possible to reclaim the idea of a "friend"?
Will we ever again appreciate the present while carrying the world-wide in our pocket?
Maybe weʻre advancing maybe weʻre digressing thatʻs not for me to day so long as weʻre redeeming along the way.

I was watching an interview with Jerry Seinfeld on Conan O'Brian and he said that he doesn't have a blackberry. He goes on to describe how people have developed a "slow head down." The description he gives is that you are talking to a person and their head slowly drifts down to their blackberry (or other mobile device). I was laughing when he was talking about it but I know I have been guilty of that and have to keep myself from doing that.

Thatʻs awesome Mike, thanks!
Good question man! It will be interesting to see what our kids are like and better yet, what their kids are like!
Thanks for the comments!
I agree about the whole "overteched" thing. We're so close to that...so long as we're redeeming. I am all for slowing down and taking time away from technology...however, when I get an iPhone, maybe that will all change!
Alex, I just spent my longest stretch away from my iPhone yesterday, about 10hrs. It was hard at first but then I adjusted : ) Amazing thing about humans, we can adapt to living in the future and the past.
